Car

After enjoying breakfast, we will begin our day with a visit to the Royal Palace Museum, originally built in 1904 during the French colonial era for King Sisavang Vong and his family. This beautiful museum offers a glimpse into the rich history and culture of Laos.

Next, embark on a leisurely cruise upstream on the Mekong River, allowing you to take in breathtaking views of the tranquil countryside. Our journey will lead us to the enigmatic Ou Caves, where thousands of gold-lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes, left by pilgrims over the years, create a truly mesmerizing atmosphere. Along the way, stop at the village of Ban Xanghai, renowned for its local rice wine production, giving you a taste of the region’s traditional craftsmanship.

Upon returning to the city, we will explore the historic Wat Sene, followed by the magnificent Wat Xieng Thong, a masterpiece of Lao temple architecture. This temple features a sweeping two-tiered roof and ornate mosaics, including a stunning ‘Tree of Life’ glass montage on the rear wall, showcasing the artistry of Lao culture.

Visit Heuan Chan, a beautifully restored 19th-century aristocratic mansion that offers insights into Lao culture through traditional ceremonies, textiles, and family life. This mansion serves as a testament to Lao heritage, featuring enriching exhibitions and a documentary on the customs of Laos.

After our visit, you will have the opportunity to savor authentic Lao coffee or tea, providing a true taste of the region.

In the late afternoon, make a stop at Wat Prabath to admire the sunset, a perfect setting to witness the day’s last light reflecting on the landscape.

Our tour will conclude with a visit to the famous Night Market, where you can browse a delightful collection of handmade textiles crafted by local artisans and hill tribe communities surrounding Luang Prabang.

Day 3: KUANG SI WATERFALL – SUNSET CRUISE (Breakfast) July 02, 2025

Car

Awaken with the sunrise to participate in one of the most sacred traditions of Laos: the daily morning alms giving, a practice that dates back to the 14th century. Each morning, more than 200 Buddhist monks depart from various temples to gather their daily meal from devoted residents who sit quietly along the streets, creating a serene and reflective atmosphere.

After this profound experience, visit the temporary morning market near the former Royal Palace. Here, local vendors barter their fresh catches of the day, offering everything from rice and vegetables to fish and chicken, showcasing the vibrant community spirit of Luang Prabang.

Following breakfast at the hotel, we will ascend the 329 steps to the summit of Phousi Hill. This rewarding climb offers panoramic views of the city and the Mekong River, providing a perfect backdrop for memorable photographs.

Transfer to the breathtaking Kuang Si Waterfalls, the largest in the Luang Prabang area. With three tiers cascading down into stunning azure pools, these waterfalls create a picturesque setting that is perfect for swimming and relaxation, beloved by both tourists and locals alike.

For those seeking a bit of adventure, there is an opportunity to walk to the nearby village of Ban Thapene, where you can explore hidden waterfalls that are rarely visited by other tourists, offering a more intimate experience with nature.

If time permits, you may also wish to visit the Bear Rescue Center, which shelters animals rescued from poachers and traffickers, shedding light on important conservation efforts in the region.

On our way back to Luang Prabang, stop by the Ock Pop Tock Living Craft Center, a beautifully designed workshop situated close to the Mekong River. Here, talented weavers, spinners, and batik makers produce high-quality fabrics, and the center offers free tours every half-hour. This location is also one of the best spots to enjoy the sunset over the river.

As the day comes to a close, embark on a sunset cruise along the Mekong River, allowing you to witness the breathtaking beauty of the sun setting behind distant mountains, a perfect way to end a day filled with rich experiences.
