Siem Reap

Siem Reap

Siem Reap has colonial and Chinese-style architecture in the Old French Quarter, and around the Old Market. In the city, there are museums, traditional Apsara dance performances, a Cambodian cultural village, souvenir and handicraft shops, silk farms, rice-paddies in the countryside, fishing villages and a bird sanctuary near the Tonle Sap Lake.

This place is best known as the gateway to the Angkor Wat complex, an ancient Khmer civilization site recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Thanks to Angkor Wat and other ancient Khmer monuments, Siem Reap and Cambodia have developed their tourism industry, attracting visitors from around the globe.

The best time to visit Siem Reap is from December to mid-May, during the dry season with sunny weather, making it the peak tourist season in Cambodia and convenient for sightseeing and experiences.

From mid-May to November is the rainy season, characterized by humid weather, which can somewhat affect travel plans. However, prices and accommodation costs are generally lower compared to peak season.
